We’ve announced a new full wedding day package for up to 120 people for the incredible all-in cost of just €8,000*!
The package includes hosting the wedding ceremony on our outdoor balcony, Prosecco reception, elevated 3 course meal for 40-45 people including wine, ‘afters’ reception for 80 guests including Prosecco and canapés, early evening live music and late-night DJ. The package also includes full and exclusive use of our state-of-the-art Karaoke Room, to make weddings at Taphouse an even more unique experience.
Adam Kilbane, General Manager of Taphouse explains; “While the big Irish wedding for 100-200 people in a large Hotel, Castle or Country House will always be the mainstay of the Irish Wedding scene, more and more people are looking for new and unique ways of celebrating their special day - something a bit more memorable and distinctive for the happy couple and their guests”.
There has been a growing appetite for smaller, more intimate and unique wedding celebrations over the last few years in Ireland, where a greater level of flexibility and customization of the day is available.
Kilbane continues “With larger weddings in larger spaces, clearly any venue will struggle to offer an elevated dining experience for those numbers, that’s not what they are set up to do. So, for those couples who really want the food at their wedding to be memorable, they are looking for alternatives. We believe we allow people to have the best of both worlds – an intimate fine dining experience with your family and closest friends plus the big blast-out party later with the extended ‘afters’ guests”.
The recent renovation of the main party spaces is a big attraction for couples looking for a standout venue for their big day. Rather than a large square room, the wedding spaces are a series of interlocking areas. The main room is the Upstairs Lounge, which is designed around the concept of a Hi-Fi Music Lounge, creating a truly unique wedding venue. The Rooftop Terrace has views across Ranelagh village and a retractable roof plus outdoor heating, make it a great outdoor party space whatever time of the year you’re arranging your wedding. The Glass Room is located right between the Terrace and the Upstairs Lounge and is ideally positioned for hosting a cocktail & canapé reception to welcome your guests.
Taphouse has been a prominent part of village live in Ranelagh for over 12 years and has always been a place to create special memories. Kilbane adds “We’re always talking about how Taphouse is about creating memories, hundreds of couples have gotten engaged here over the years, so when we decided to invest in a significant renovation, it gave us the opportunity to open up the space to more types of special moments, including the biggest event of everyone’s lives, their wedding. So, we built the space making sure it would work for weddings. Weddings done in our own unique Taphouse style!”

According to Kilbane, “Many couples are reluctant to blow their savings on the classic big Irish wedding, they’d rather put that money towards securing a buying a home. Which means looking at more reasonably priced options and making them more intimate and unique. These are exactly the kind of people we love to work with to create a big day to remember.”
There are other types of groups for whom a smaller gathering appeals more. The recent influx of international workers to Dublin is one such group. “For people getting married who have come from abroad to live and work in Dublin, they might prefer a smaller gathering, so they put a bigger focus on their closest friends and families and a more communal style of celebration. Also, because we feature dishes from multiple continents and cultures, our menu is appealing - we can create a menu that combines elements of their home culture as well as their new one!”
